The Fanale tower (63 meters high) was rebuilt in its fourteenth-century form after the Second World War.
Today it is a residential building that stands on the cliffs of the "Romito", i.e. the stretch of coastal road that connects Livorno to Quercianella and that cinephiles will remember in the film "Il Sorpasso".



It is a working-class neighborhood but very colorful and very particular which, especially on the occasion of the Barontini Cup rowing competition, is filled with Livorno residents and tourists to enjoy the spectacle of the goiters sailing fast against the clock between the city's canals.
The Sonnino castle stands on a promontory overlooking the sea a few kilometers from the city, near the hamlet of Quercianella, in the Romito area. The construction of the castle dates back to the end of the 19th century when the baron Sidney Sonnino decided to set up his residence there .

Livorno is undoubtedly the city of sunsets. In summer especially the pink and orange hues are predominant giving shows that leave you breathless.
